The Midlanz Branch of The Newfoundland Club of New Zealand covers the area of the Southern Auckland Boundary, around Mercer, to Turangi and across to Napier.
They accommodate their members by holding events in most locations, or close enough for all members of a certain area to attend.
Midlanz is a very active branch, with the emphasis on social and fun events. These can include a swim at the beach followed by a BBQ, or a walk with a social gathering at the end.
There is also a competitive side for members wishing to compete with their dogs, including Carting Trials and Water Trials.
School gala's and Christmas parades prove very popular with adults and children alike!
Midlanz also hold ribbon parades, allowing “pet” Newfies to show themselves off without the “show” criteria.
